PERSONAL
Born in Iraq in 1961 by Kurdish parents, I have always been drawing and designing, showing a general interest in art. Later in life, in 1983, opposing Saddam Hussein's regime forced med to flee from Iraq to Iran. Soon after I had to leave Iran for political reasons.
In 1985 I arrived in Denmark, which has since then been my home country – apart from an 8 month leave from work in 2005-2006, which I spent in Iraq teaching at the Academy of Arts in Suleimania to help rebuild the country. During this time I met my lovely wife Avan, who is also an artist. She joined me in Denmark and we now have baby daughter.
As for spare time, aside from spending time with my family and friends, I’m always looking for new inspiration weather going to exhibitions, movies, plays, enjoying art books or just observing the world around me.
