Asembo
In Asembo we had a first hand impression of countryside life. We talked with the villagers about their life conditions and the HIV/AIDS situation. Though most of them are catholics, they have a pragmatic view on condoms.
Peter Okoyo and another social worker were our guides. They explained us about the complicated rites of the Luya tribe.
We had a meeting with the women´s group, the youth group and the water group. All of them told about their endeavour for development of the village. If the efforts of Asembo to build up the community can be seen as representative, the situation seems hopeful for Africa.
